Wardrobe Remix

I would be pretty sure that if anyone out there were actually reading this they probably also look at the awesome site that introduced me to street fashion on the web, and that is : wardrobe_remix on Flickr.

The site is kind of what I had been searching for over the past two years since departing New York City.  I currently live in a small college town that, to be fair, has its fair share of fashionistas.  Yet I was still finding it hard to be inspired.  For the herds of cute, daring students that roam the streets, there are equal numbers of dansko and sweat pant rockers in the crowd.  I am not dogging those who choose comfort over style.  I have just always wished that we could all be a bit more Paris than Nebraska.
Anyway one afternoon I was searching the web for images of Jane Birkin and her daughter Lou Doillin (above) for some ideas/ inspiration and in an image search I find this site:  http://www.thevintagesociety.blogspot.com

The cute and very daring author had posted my Lou as one of her, "society girls of the week." This nod earns her street cred with me instantly.  I read on.  Turns out she is also a consistant and informative fashion blogster and a participant in this lovely photo pool called wardrobe_remix.
I spent weeks lurking all the girls and their outfits without any tits to post pictures myself. Obviously I got it together and began posting my outfits and I can't tell you what a nice feeling it is to hear positive feedback AND be totally inspired to dress up again!  (above, below)
I should mention that little blog of mine wouldn't exist without them either.  So let me say thanks for inspiring me and hopefully many others so that we can all feel a bit less Nebraska.

Little by Little

Well I am slowly adding things, one day at a time it seems, to my NEW STORE!  This dress is super cute and comfortable.  I never liked it on me though.  I'm sure if I sell it there will come the day that I have nothing else I want to wear except that one damn dress!  The one that got away.
I totally fall into that terrible way of being that you only want things that you can't have.  It is like some strange tick.

I'm still crap at getting these photos in the right places on the page,  but I will give it a go nonetheless.  Soon I hope to also find a better place to take my pictures than in my crappy apartment in front of the cat scratch post.
See!  They are cute!  And not too wobbly.  I can't really do the heels thing because of my line of work, although I have seen some crazy heels on other ladies who stand as long as I do.  I just want to be able to walk around barefoot when I'm older and not scare anyone.
But less tender feet-ed, bid away!

First Post

This is my first post and hopefully the beginning of my foray into part-time second hand clothes seller!
Although I just opened my ebay and auctiva sites with one pair of lovely vintage pumps that didn't sell on ebay last time I put them up (!)  I still have a good feeling about this time.  I feel more professional and prepared than I did last month!  ; )
As I was searching flickr for cool images to possibly use for the sites I came across this gem that lots of people may or may not have seen.  New to me, that's all I know!
